About

headshot2Ragnhild Aasen Jenkins, PT & owner.

With more than two decades on this beautiful Island of Maui, I have worked in a variety of settings including short-term rehab, acute care, home health and outpatient clinics.

Most of my patients have either acute or chronic pain and tension related issues. This may be from a recent injury or an old injury. Sometimes it is difficult to identify a specific event that cause the pain/tension, other than the body has reached it’s threshold and it is communicating through pain trying to get our attention.

The approach I use is called Integrative Manual Therapy. IMT is a hands-on, tissue specific approach with roots in traditional European osteopathy, myofascial release and cranio-sacral therapy.  The techniques are gentle and directed at releasing joints, discs, nerves, bone bruises, muscles, fascia, organs, arteries, veins and more. My goal is to tap into your body’s ability to heal itself, working with the body instead of forcing it. I aim at fixing the underlying cause of dysfunction, not just managing the symptoms.

I also spend a lot of time on patient education to explain what is going on, often demonstrating on the skeleton, and what you can do at home. This will usually include a prescribed home exercise/management program.

Maui Holistic Physical Therapy is a small owner operated local business established in 2016 with the goal to provide an alternative to traditional physical therapy.
